Day 5  – Tuesday, March 20, 2018

St. Mary’s MS/HS Daily Announcements


9-12 students are to report to 1st hour, then after attendance has been taken, 1st hour teacher will walk with the class to Parish Center for today’s retreat.


Tuesday, March 20 Lenten Retreat for all St. Mary's 9-12 students, from 8:15 - 12:30 this will be an Out of Uniform day (9-12 only).  Lunch will be provided by Fr. Michael and Mrs. Cone


Tuesday, March 20  1:00 – 7:30p Parent/Teacher Conferences in the Gym MS/HS report cards will be available from homeroom teachers


Tuesday, March 20 6:30 – 7:30p  8th Grade Orientation meeting for Parents and Students in room 12.


AFTER PROM FUNDRAISERS – students need to sign up in the office to help:

·      Columbus Hall Omelet Breakfast – Sunday, March 25 – 8:30 – 12:30 p.m.

·      Pizza Ranch After Prom Fundraiser on Monday, March 26 – 5-8 p.m.

 Warm Weather Wear:

1.    Students must wear solid dress style pants/shorts, free of decoration or embroidery.mPants/shorts must be of appropriate size, worn at the waist, hemmed, with no rips/tears.

a.    K-8 Solid black or navy pants/shorts (twill or corduroy) but no knit pants, leggings, skinny jeans or sweat style pants.

b.    9-12 Solid black, navy or tan khaki pants/shorts (twill or corduroy) no knit pants, leggings, skinny jeans, sweat style pants or cargo style pants/shorts.

3.    Uniform walking shorts may be worn from the beginning of the school year until November 1 and then again beginning March 20 to the end of the school year.  Girls may also wear capris during the short season. 

4.    Length of shorts/skirts must be mid-thigh or longer in length, measured when the longest finger of the hand touches thigh when in a standing position with arms and hands extended by the side.

5.    All 6-12 students must wear belt with pants, shorts every day. K-8  (girls only) may wear uniform navy jumper or uniform navy skirt during short season.

2:45 Dismissal schedule for St. Mary’s – K-12 will meet in the Gym for Lip Sync competition, order will be 9th, 10th, 11th 12th grade.
Students taking SLHS classes are expected to attend classes as scheduled this week.
Students with Online Courses The Online Books will be here tomorrow a.m.--Thursday You will be able to pick them up from Mrs. Smith during HR time. 
Thursday, Jan. 18 - Homeroom seniors will have Lip Sync practice on the stage during homeroom from 10:33 – 11:05.
Thursday, Jan. 18 - 6th hour freshman will have Lip sync practice during SH in Mr. Berg’s room on THURSDAY!
Monday, Jan 22 - Junior prom committee meeting on Monday during homeroom.
Monday, Jan. 22 - Can Drive Competition – Character Council will be rewarding the winning class in preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school for the amount of food they collect and donate.  Teachers will send a count of items to Mrs. Strom each Monday and Character Council will come and collect items on Wednesday mornings at 8:00
Monday, Jan. 22nd at 9:00 a.m. there will be a representative here from Iowa Central.  I would highly suggest those who have applied, visit with him and ask Financial Aid questions.  For juniors, this is also an opportunity to start your inquiries to colleges. 
Feb. 1st, 7:30 am HS Boys/Girls track meeting in the gym.  See Mr. Varner if you have questions.
